24 Years Young

Today is my 24th Birthday! Hip Hip Hooray!
I officially feel old....haha.

While I have your eyes on my blog I thought I would take the opportunity to share what I have learned this past year.

Keep Calm and Carry On. Amazing how this WWII phrase has made a recent come back. But it's true I have learned that my life is not for me to control, "in his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps" (Proverbs 16:9). There is not reason to become anxious or excited about anything because my life is in God's hands, "therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it's own (Matthew 6:34).

Eat. Pray. Love.

Eat, pray, and love.  I feel this phrase is LIFE summed up into three simple words. If only life was as simple as three words. But, it can be by incorporating each element into our daily lives. Eat- we need to eat to live. Pray- pray to God whatever is on your heart, and live as a child of God. And Love- love one another, life is too short for animosity.

Happiness can come from the most common things, if we look at things in this light.

"Live life to the fullest" (my personal life motto). Life is a blessing, a gift and should be lived out to the glory of God. I "delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels:" (Isaiah 61:1)

You never know where life is going to take you. Thrive where ever God leads you.

In a world where you can be anything, BE YOURSELF!!

Some Birthday Lovin' from me to you! Key lime pie is one of my favorite desserts. Enjoy the recipe!

A Glipmse of Gold

This post is inspired by all the gold accents that I have been noticing recently in interiors. In the same way gold jewelry can “jazz up” a particular outfit, a glimpse of gold can bring any interior to life. In my opinion, gold is a decorating neutral…it goes with almost everything. Even small accents of gold can go a long way. I feel every room should incorporate some element that gives a space the WOW factor...in this case gold. Nothing has to be boring. Gilded gold elements are exciting; they suggest a sense of sophistication and glamour. Here are some ways of incorporating a glimpse of gold into your interior and onto your tabletop.

Incorporate gold hardware to your tabletop. I love the Kelly Wearstler china by Pickard.

These Kelly Wearstler napkins rings by Sferra are a must, I am obessed! Love them.

Remember a glimpse of gold can go a long way…..I may sound a bit like Goldfinger in Austin Powers, but “I love GOLD!!”
